About Texaid

Texaid’s core business model is based on circularity, where they strive to promote economic activity while maintaining social responsibility and environmental sustainability for almost 50 years. Their services ensure that valuable raw materials are responsibly collected, sorted, and recycled. Texaid employs around 1,000 employees across its locations in Switzerland (HQ), Germany, Austria, Spain, Bulgaria, Hungary, and the US. Each day, Texaid fulfills its responsibility to the environment, people, and society by keeping used textiles in the textiles loop.

Challenges

Texaid’s sustainability team aimed to set-up a centralized reporting system for the groupwide sustainability reporting with the aim of its continuous development. For this, a first set of material topics was defined, and the ambition was to report on them following GRI standards as well as calculating a carbon footprint. All this was aimed to be implemented into and collected digitally through a reporting solution. This step required the data collection from 12 months and 8 organizational units on a wide range of topics. 

They were seeking a solution provider that could rapidly onboard them and assist in coordinating the data collection.

Solutions

We were able to promptly onboard Texaid onto our platform, provide training, and establish the reporting structure. Utilizing Pelt8’s pre-built templates, Texaid was able to identify and allocate responsibilities for the data points required from various locations. This process ensured that everyone involved was aware of the necessary information that they had to provide.We also added emission factors for significant environmental indicators to calculate the carbon footprint as data was collected. Within less than 1.5 months, we completed the report, calculated the carbon footprint, and published the report.
